Throuhout the summer of 2010 The Waspman will be destroying wasps nests throughout Manchester, Trafford , Lancashire and Cheshire for a fixed fee of £32.00 (£44.50 in postcodes (CH, CW & L).

The Waspman are available seven days per week including Saturdays, Sundays and evenings and do not charge an extra for evening and weekend wasp nest work.

Wasps nests can usually be destroyed from the outside of the property by blowing a small quantity of insecticide into the opening using a special device.

It is necessary to have a wasps’ nest treated before autumn when the new queens which will construct next year’s nests start to emerge. Once this starts simply destoying the nest will not kill these new queens as they are no longer using the nest. A single nest can release around 2000 queens.

For the whole of the summer we give priority to wasp nest calls as we know that many people react badly to wasps stings and it is vital to destroy the nest as soon as it is discovered. We do our best to provide a rapid same day service but this is obviously constrained by how much work we have on.

It is neither necessary nor desirable to remove the wasp nest itself as it can never be used again and, being built from purely of paper it will crumble away by itself.
